About Us
The Lancashire Early Intervention Service is an integrated service working with Health and Social Care partners across the County.
The service, sometimes known as EIS, is modernising access to care and treatment for those who present with first episode psychosis. The service has been designed to ensure better, more effective treatment for young people in the early stages of the illness and reassure service users about their recovery. The service works with young people aged from 14 through to 35.
The service is delivered using a hub and spoke model and delivers specialist interventions through a modular programme, which will provide new opportunities for clients and their carers, and promote optimism through to recovery.
The “hub” team, which is based at Daisyfield Mill in Blackburn is the base for the Deputy Network Director, the Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist and their team of Psychological Therapists and Clinical Psychologists, the CAMHS Consultant and a small team of administration staff.
In addition to the “hub” team there are three “spoke teams and between each of these teams they provide a service to cover the whole of Lancashire.
Firstly we have the North Lancashire spoke team who are based in Blackpool and cover Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde, Lancaster and Morecambe areas of the county. Secondly we have East Lancashire spoke team who are based in Accrington and they cover the areas of Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale. Finally we have the Central Lancashire spoke team which also incorporates West Lancashire. This team covers the areas of Preston, Chorley, Leyland, Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.
Each of the spoke teams is led by a Team Leader and a Deputy Team Leader who work alongside what is known as a multi-disciplinary team. This team consists of a Consultant Psychiatrist, Case Managers who are also known as Care Co-ordinators, Assistant Case Managers, Support Time and Recovery (STR) Workers, a Research Assistant and a small administration team.
